Contrasting the region, Victoria’s “Ayers Rock” Mount Arapiles rises from the flat wide open spaces of the wheat fields of the Wimmera. The rock is world famous for climbers and many set up camp at its base.
One can drive, walk, cycle or climb to its summit where breathtaking views await you. There are numerous walking tracks and the rock blossoms with wildflowers in the spring.
Natimuk, the service centre for Mt. Arapiles is only a short drive away and is growing in popularity for the array of antique and craft shops, and restored old buildings.
